Captain Haydon Smith was born and raised in Biloxi and has spent his whole life fishing the Gulf Coast waters. Growing up along the Mississippi Gulf Coast helped build his passion for fishing and gave him firsthand knowledge of the local waters, fish patterns, and everything the Gulf has to offer. As part of Meg-Bite Fishing Charters, Captain Haydon specializes in both inshore and offshore fishing, giving guests the chance to experience some of the best fishing on the Gulf Coast.
Before earning his captain’s license, Haydon worked as a deckhand for the Gulf Coast Research Laboratory, where he gained valuable hands-on experience working on the water and learning more about the Gulf’s marine environment. Combined with a lifetime of fishing experience, that background helped shape the captain he is today.
Known for his laid-back personality, local knowledge, and family-friendly trips, Captain Haydon believes a great charter is about more than just catching fish — it’s about making memories, having fun, and enjoying time on the water.
